SLIDE CRAWL - Artist Presentation Series
Slide Crawl is a night of conversational artist lectures by three to four artists whose practices share a common conceptual or formal theme. Curated by independent curators and Crawl Space members, the event brings together artists from a range of experience and public success, tying together ideas that are relevant to emerging artists as well as important themes being discussed by of our region’s most influential art makers.
Slide Crawl is free to the public and its unique format encourages open dialog between the presenting artists, the curator and the audience.
Opportunities for early-career artists in our region to present their work and their ideas in a public exchange are rare. Slide Crawl pairs emerging artists with well-known artists from around the Northwest. By featuring these artists side by side, emerging artists gain exposure and clout while seasoned artists gain the opportunity to show their work in a new and explorative context. Slide Crawl provides unique professional and creative development for its presenting artists and a fresh way for its audience to encounter art.
Slide Crawl is a forum that enhances the arts in the Northwest by involving the public in discussion with local artists and their interests, providing emerging artists the opportunity to bring their work and ideas to the public, and drawing out important current themes in art by new curators.
