DIRECTOR

Crawl Space is thrilled to introduce our Director Jennifer Campbell, who establishes and carries out Crawl Space’s Strategic Plan through fiscal management and program development as the gallery evolves into an artist-run center. Jennifer implements programs created by the Artist Board along with her own curatorial projects, and manages new Crawl Space personnel including Organizational Members and Interns.  She is building our capacity to expand financial support to the center’s exhibiting artists and curators and boosts community involvement through new artistic endeavors.

For the last ten years, Jennifer Campbell has worked in various community and non-profit art organizations.  She brings her experience in coordinating exhibitions, grant writing, curatorial practice, event planning and artist representation to broaden Crawl Space’s capacity to serve early-career artists.  Native to Vancouver, BC, Jennifer worked for three years in Montreal as the Exhibition Coordinator at Dazibao, centre de photographies actuelles, a non-profit contemporary art gallery.  She also taught photography part-time at Concordia University and the University of Ottawa.  Jennifer received BFA-honors at the University of Victoria (1998) and then went on to complete an MFA in Photography at Concordia University in Montreal (2004).  As well as working as an arts administrator, she is a photo-based artist that has exhibited in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, New York, and Melbourne.
