TRIAL AND THE TRIBUNAL:
New work by ANNE MATHERN
Crawl Space managing director Anne Mathern is pleased to present Trial & the Tribunal, a collection of her new works in photography, video, and sound installation focused on the attempt at greatness. Remembering her childhood’s parish musical in which the head Monsignor of the church tries to please the Heavenly Tribunal to get himself from purgatory to heaven, this show considers desperation, the pursuit of significance and the qualification of greatness.
Anne Mathern received her BFA in Photography from the University of Washington in 2004. She is the co-founder and Managing Director of Crawl Space in Seattle. She enjoys long walks on the beach by herself, collecting giant walking staffs.
