INSISTENT IMAGERY

20 October – 11 November 2007

Crawl Space member artist Brad Biancardi presents Insistent Imagery: Bird, Elevator, Gallery and Star Wars, four recent paintings representing the artist’s translations of stasis, transition, heartbreak, new love, freedom, physical decay, loneliness, ego, memory, nostalgia, and music into good-old paint. These recent images arise from the artist’s continued exploration of the physicality and psychological impact of architectural spaces through their rendering and re-rendering in drawing and painting.

A graduate of the 2005 UW MFA program, Biancardi has been a member of Crawl Space for two years, curating Non-Non Referential Painting and his own field study of our nation’s capitol in Piss President. He has exhibited at the Lawrimore Project in Perfect Landscape and was a 2007 finalist for the Betty Bowen award.
